I was introduced to this new concept of Africentric music education. I felt it helped me to be more aware of people’s cultural assets.
What I found most useful about the workshop: Establishing that Africentric teaching should be embraced, it grows musicality rather than simply transferring information.
The SCRRM HOPE tool seems like it’s really useful, in what the family tree represents and the roots of Afrocentric music.
